Apply the Law of Attraction in 5 Steps
What is the Law of Attraction?
In a nutshell the Law of Attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts you will bring positive or negative experiences into your life. So pretty much, what you focus on, you will bring more of this into your life: like attracts like. Every day we have between 50,000-70,000 thoughts, which is between 35 and 48 thoughts per minute! Research has shown that 98 % of our thoughts are exactly the same ones we thought the day before, and that around 80% of them are negative. When I saw this figure around how many negative thoughts we have, and that they are repeated day after day, I was shocked! When we look at how the Law of Attraction works (like attracting like), then look at how many of our thoughts daily are negative, no wonder we are not attracting the joyful abundant life we desire!
Our brains have a habit of storing negative thoughts, so from the moment we are born we have a bank of negative thoughts/negative patterns/negative beliefs that we can draw from every day. Mostly these are locked in the bank that is our subconscious, so we are mostly unaware of these thoughts consciously in our day to day lives. As we are thinking negative thoughts 80% of the day: according to the Law of Attraction, will will be bringing more negative situations into our lives.
To make real changes in your life and work positively with the Law of Attraction, we need to re-wire our brains to think positively. This is not an overnight trick, but something that will happen over time: as we are re-programming our brains with positive and love-based thoughts and patterns/beliefs. (Most negative patterns/beliefs are based in Fear).
This might sound complicated and overwhelming, but I assure you it isn’t. Here are 5 simple ways you can start training your brain to focus on the positive instead of the negative.

Energy flows where attention goes.”

5 Simple Ways To Focus On The Positive
and Use The Law Of Attraction
1. Practice Daily Meditation
By practising daily Mediation, we can quieten the mind and tune into what thoughts are floating around our heads. Meditation teaches us to stay calm and teaches us to observe our thoughts before responding. When we have this pause we can start to notice where our thoughts are on the scale of Positive – Negative. If they are negative, acknowledge it, and surrender it over to the Universe to be neutralised and released. Ask your True Higher Self to replace this space with Love and Peace.
If you are new to meditation, you can do a guided meditation on YouTube that focuses on positive thoughts and releasing old negative patterns/beliefs.
2. Move Your Body
This might sound a little strange as something that will help you use the Law of Attraction: however since our bodies and mind are connected, we want to nourish both with Love & Positivity. The Law of Attraction works with the Universal flow of energy, so if your bodies energy is stagnant, you can’t be an integrated part of the flow? Our negative thoughts and beliefs overtime get stored deep in our body’s, in our cellular memory. We want to bring nourishment and care to our body to help release these negative frequencies and replace them with ones of Love and Nourishment.
So get out there are shake your booty! Go for a run, hit the pool, or stretch it out with a hot yoga session.
3. Practice Gratitude
The Law of Attraction works with the principle of like attracts like, and for most people, they want to attract positive things into their lives. Practising Gratitude daily helps you to focus on the positive in your life. When we train our minds to find things to be thankful for, we are also working with the Law of Attraction. We are saying to the Universe, “YES! I want more of this in my life.” The Law of Attraction does not play games, if you are focusing on the positive, more positive will come. If you focus on the negative, unfortunately more negative will be attracted to your life.
You can practice Gratitude daily by writing in a Gratitude Journal every morning or night. For some ideas on what to be thankful for check out this previous post: — Weekly Gratitude Inspiration
4. Use Positive Affirmation
When people first start to work with the Law of Attraction, they often end up quitting because what they are wanting to attract doesn’t appear to be coming to them. However the main reason this is happening is because deep down, they do not BELIEVE that they can obtain whatever it is they desire. They may not feel worthy, or deserving. They may tell themselves all the time that “oh things like that never happen to me”. By saying these things, you are closing the door to attracting what you desire. Instead you are putting up a big block between you and whatever it is you want to attract.
For an example: You want to attract a loving relationship into your life. You put the good thoughts out there and let the Universe know what you want. It feels great and you are excited. Then you go about the rest of the day and you have your usual thought of: “No-one will ever love me”. SLAM ON THE BREAKS! You want to attract a loving relationship, but your belief and self talk is that ‘no-one will ever love you’? Your desire and belief do not match, and if you have had this thought for a long time, it is most likely deep in your subconscious mind.
So what you need is to create a train of positive thoughts about who you are and what you desire. This is where Positive Affirmations come in. By saying these affirmations repeatedly, you can start to rewire your brain into believing these statements and letting go of the old negative ones. You can either write your own, or there are many positive affirmations out on the internet on a huge range of topics. Say them 3 times when you wake up and before you go to sleep, and any time during the course of the day when you feel your negative thoughts creeping in.
Now this is big one! When you are working with the Law of Attraction – having trust and faith is crucial. Working with the Law of Attraction is not a fast-paced exercise, especially if you are new to the process. You are working with a Cosmic Law, and this means that you and the Universe are a team. The Universe is working to bring you what you desire, and you need to do your part of by being willing and open to receive. You also need to trust in the Universe and the Law of Attraction. When you doubt, you are emanating negative vibrations, which as we know, will attract back a matching negativity. So keep on practising your daily Gratitude, and keeping your vibration/mindset in a positive mode. For more about trusting and connecting to the Universe, Check out my post on Being Connected.
